Stars Ablaze FutureTech Academy teaches a full Kindergarten to Grade 12 programme that keeps reading, writing, mathematics and science at its centre, and builds artificial intelligence literacy, coding, robotics, entrepreneurship, digital citizenship and leadership into every year. It is designed to support Liberia's educational context while building globally competitive skills.

Our approach

Technology never replaces foundations. Learners read, calculate and reason first, and then use technology to investigate, build and communicate. Every grade combines traditional academic rigour with practical FutureTech skills, ethical leadership and real-world problem solving.

Kindergarten – Grade 2

Early & Foundation

Learning to read, count and wonder. Oral language, phonics, number sense and curiosity come first, with playful, supervised first contact with technology.

Elementary

Kindergarten

Curiosity, language and belonging

Kindergarten establishes the habits that make school work: listening, speaking in full sentences, handling books, counting with meaning, observing carefully and treating others kindly. Learning is play-based, oral and hands-on, and every child is expected to leave with the beginnings of reading and number sense.

Grade 1

Learning to read and to reason

Grade 1 turns emerging readers into readers. Learners decode confidently, write real sentences, add and subtract fluently within 20, investigate the world around them and take their first structured steps in digital and coding skills.

Grade 2

Fluency, independence and first projects

Grade 2 completes the foundation phase. Learners read fluently enough to learn from text, write organised paragraphs, work confidently with numbers to 1,000, and complete their first end-of-level exhibition project.

Grade 3

From learning to read, to reading to learn

Grade 3 is the pivot year. Learners now use reading to acquire knowledge, write multi-paragraph texts, master multiplication and division, conduct structured science investigations and begin real block coding and digital research.

Grade 4

Precision, evidence and building things that work

Grade 4 raises expectations for accuracy and evidence. Learners handle multi-digit computation and fractions, write with evidence from sources, run longer investigations, build more ambitious coded projects and take on their first design and robotics challenges.

Grade 5

Ready for middle school: research, reasoning and responsibility

Grade 5 consolidates the elementary years and prepares learners for specialist teaching. Learners write full research reports, operate confidently with fractions and decimals, run independent investigations, and complete the Elementary Level exhibition.

Grade 6

Entering middle school: systems, ratio and responsibility

Grade 6 begins specialist study. Learners handle ratio and proportional reasoning, integrated science with formal lab reports, argument writing, and step into serious computational thinking, cybersecurity and career exploration.

Grade 7

Pre-algebra, Python and the engineering mindset

Grade 7 pushes into abstraction. Learners work with linear relationships, chemical and physical change, historical causation and full Python programming, while robotics introduces sensors and control.

Grade 8

Algebra readiness, applied technology and high-school preparation

Grade 8 completes middle school. Learners reach algebra readiness, handle systems-level science, produce an interdisciplinary exhibition project, and choose their high-school pathway with informed guidance.

Grade 9

Foundation year of the high-school pathways

Grade 9 lays the academic base for graduation: Algebra I, Biology, world literature and composition, world history, and the first pathway courses in computer science, robotics, business or digital media.

Building depth: proof, chemistry and applied technology

Grade 10 deepens reasoning. Geometry brings formal proof, Chemistry brings quantitative laboratory work, and pathway courses move from foundations into building real applications, prototypes and ventures.

Specialisation, research methods and real production

Grade 11 is the specialisation year. Learners complete Algebra II and Physics or Environmental Science, take formal research methods, deepen pathway work into production-quality output and prepare the ground for their capstone.

Capstone, transition and launch

Grade 12 converts twelve years of learning into evidence. Learners complete advanced mathematics and English, finish pathway coursework, deliver and defend the FutureTech Capstone, and leave with a portfolio, a CV and a concrete post-secondary or employment plan.
